Do you ever get the tune of a song stuck in your mind, but you can’t remember the name or lyrics of the song? Many times we use apps like Shazam to know the name of a song. But the good thing is that now this is possible through YouTube too. Now any song can be searched on YouTube by humming or whistling. It’s important to note that this feature works exclusively on YouTube’s mobile app and is not available on the web version. The name of this feature is hum-to-search.
Here we are telling you step by step method that will help you to find songs on YouTube app just by humming. For this, first of all, open YouTube on your mobile. Once you enter the YouTube app, tap the Search icon in the top right corner of the screen.
To use the hum-to-search feature, tap the microphone icon next to the search bar. For this you may have to give YouTube permission to use your microphone. If you’re privacy-minded, you can allow microphone access while using the app, or turn it off after using the feature.
With the microphone active, you can now hum, sing, or whistle the tune of the song you’re trying to identify. After this YouTube will use this audio input to search the song.
New feature rolled out for some users
After this the complete list of search results will appear in front of you. If your song is correct then you can start enjoying and if the song is wrong then search again by microphone. It is possible that not everyone has got this feature yet, because the company is slowly starting the rollout.
